My name is Rich Pav.

I’m the editor and sound engineer for podcasts like Uncanny Japan and Japan Distilled. My partner and I used to do a audio drama podcast called Uncanny Robot. It was a blast to make back when generative AI was wonky and useless, but the day ChatGPT appeared, we knew “AI” would come to mean “low-effort shit content” and the concept was a dead end.

I also teach English as a foreign language. I used to work in IT at various companies big and small in Tokyo.
